INTERNSHIPS

Internships at Dance Loft are hosted year-round for Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer terms. Supervised by their focus area’s manager, interns will work on special projects and events within the nonprofit performing arts sector and have the opportunity to showcase and grow their skills based on their interests and background.
Applicants must be 18+ and authorized to work in the US.

Arts Administration Intern

Supports the Rentals Team & Studio Associate - You will learn many of the essential aspects of running a studio that hosts rentals, productions, and classes. In supporting the team that produces Youth and Adult dance classes, you will learn how an arts organization navigates multiple priorities and gain insight on how to support an organization from the administrative perspective. You’ll get experience with useful CRM system knowledge for future positions.

Development/Fundraising Intern

Supports the Executive Director - You will gain hands-on, practical experience running aspects of an annual fundraising campaign for an arts organization. While under the mentorship of the Executive Director, projects will include copywriting, donor outreach, grant writing, prospect research and more. This internship provides one-on-one time for questions and guidance, as well as practical advice for an individual exploring professional employment in the development field.

Marketing/Communications Intern

Supports Dance Loft Communications - You will learn many of the essential aspects of community outreach through internal and external communications. Projects will include social media management, website development and maintenance, partnership collaborations, and more. Strong writing skills, knowledge of social media & trends, a creative eye, and excitement to learn required!

Internship Benefits:

Dance Loft will coordinate with your school/institution for credit hours.

If credit is not desired, we can provide an exchange for studio space and/or free classes.

Additionally, interns are contacted first for paid stagehand, Front-Of-House and event support opportunities at Dance Loft on14.

WORK EXCHANGE PROGRAM

We’re looking for art enthusiasts with the capacity to do necessary studio tasks and exchange their work for dance classes and free studio space. If you are in school and would like to exchange work for credit, but do not want to intern, we can work with you! Work Exchange duties are pre-set and will be a similar range of duties at each shift. There will also be opportunities to support in paid stagehand, Front-Of-House and event support opportunities at Dance Loft on14.

Job Description:
• Check-ins for youth and adult classes, and for shows when applicable
• Light cleaning and organizing in common areas and storage spaces
Printing Signage as needing
• Posting and writing on our cork boards and chalkboard
• Other Front of House/Box Office specific duties as needed

Hours:
3 hr shifts: Evenings M - F; Mornings & Evenings on the Weekend

Benefits:
For every 3 hours worked, Each Work Exchange individual receives credit for 2 free, one and a half hour, dance classes 
• Work Exchange individual receives 2 free hours of Studio space every month (or after 4 shifts are worked)
