Moveius Contemporary Ballet welcomes five new company members!

This season, Moveius Contemporary Ballet welcomed five new company members and three apprentices. Learn about them below, and come out to the first show of the season, Tipping Point, to see these dancers in action. Tickets can be found here!

Tamar Reisner-Stehman

Tamar grew up outside of Philadelphia, but was born in China and adopted to the States as a baby. She has been dancing since the age of 10 years old and trained in classical ballet, modern (Graham and Horton), jazz and tap dance. A graduate of Goucher College, Tamar has danced professionally in the DMV area as well as New York City and Philadelphia. In addition to being a professional dancer, she is a certified Classical Pilates instructor and runs her own virtual Pilates studio, Sunflower Pilates.

Fun fact: Tamar danced with Moveius for their 2021/22 season before taking a short hiatus and is incredibly excited to be back for the 2023/24 season!

Sarah Macdonald

Sarah grew up in Portland, Oregon and trained at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre before going on to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Ballet Austin. She then danced professionally with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland from 2013-2020. “I feel very connected to MOVEIUS' mission to use dance as a catalyst for cultural change and I am honored to join the company this season,” says Sarah.

When not dancing, Sarah is most likely found reading and drinking coffee with her two cats, Jack and Reese.

Jaime Orrego

Jaime is originally from Los Angeles, California and started dancing at the age of 17. A graduate from the University of Oklahoma, he is a former company artist with the Sacramento Ballet under the artistic direction of Ron Cunningham and Carinne Binda Cunningham.

Jaime is a full time costumer and came to Moveius through a connection with the Cunningham family!

Reagan Raczynski

Reagan began her dance training under the instruction of Barbara and Candace Sheppard and later attended The Washington School of Ballet. She received her BFA in Dance Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Minor in Psychology. Reagan has received training and scholarships for summer studies, notably, BalletX, Ate9, Marcat and City Ballet San Diego. She most recently danced with Virginia National Ballet where she performed a myriad of contemporary and classical works. Reagan connected with Moveius following an adult contemporary class at DL14, and she is excited to bring modern day stories to life.

She loves the Spy Museum, and reading seasonally flavored books and showering her dog with affection.

Moveius additionally welcomed Sarina Martinez de Osaba and Reagan Raczynski this year, in addition to Emily Hester, Elaina Conrad, and Skye Minors as apprentices! We can’t wait to share more about our company with you in 2023/24.
