Moveius Ballet goes to Armenia

For the first time in company history, Moveius Contemporary Ballet will embark on an international tour, traveling to Yerevan, Armenia at the end of October to perform in conjunction with the 2026 United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, a major biennial diplomatic conference.

The company will perform Artistic Director Diana Movius’s ballet Seasons, inspired by conservationist Rachel Carson and set to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as reimagined by Max Richter, alongside Apocrita, a dramatic study on the lifecycle of insects.

While in Yerevan, the dancers will also work with celebrated choreographer Roudolf Kharatian, former Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Armenia and a beloved part of DC’s own dance history, on two of his original choreographic works, Bach’s Passion and Stabat Mater, both of which the company is performing in their season premiere, Prelude: A Season of Migration.
