WHAT IS THE DANCE LOFT PRESENTS! ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM?

A primary goal of Dance Loft’s mission is to create space for and nurture the growth of DC’s dance community. In 2025 we launched the Dance Loft Presents! Artists in Residence program to take that goal to new heights. Each year select choreographers are selected to develop new works, receiving rehearsal and performance space, honorariums, marketing support, and box office management. Their residency culminates in performances presented by Dance Loft in our Black Box theatre.

How to participate?

We do not currently have an open application for the Dance Loft Presents! Artists in Residence program. Choreographers and dance collectives are reviewed, invited, and selected by the Dance Loft leadership team. Selections are based on need, capacity, availability, and compatibility with the program.
