Pre-Professional Training for Emerging Contemporary Ballet Artists

Moveius Contemporary Ballet’s Trainee Program is designed for dedicated dancers ages 17-22 seeking intensive training in classical and contemporary ballet while gaining valuable performance experience. This program bridges the gap between student training and professional work, offering:
Classical and Contemporary Ballet Training with a focus on refining a dancer’s technique in both ballet and modern and encouraging artistic growth
Exclusive Performance Opportunities in productions at our home Dance Loft on 14 theater, as well as with Moveius Contemporary Ballet
Private Coaching will be offered from our highly regarded faculty to help tailor the training program to each individual dancer
Professional Company Class – Take class with the company 3 days per week, and experience a professional atmosphere.
Small program size – This semi-private program is limited to 15 positions, allowing unparalleled access to esteemed faculty and maximizing dancer’s growth in classes, rehearsals, and performances
Repertoire –Trainees will learn diverse company repertoire from past and current seasons, along with traditional classical variations

Sample Schedule & Training
Trainees will engage in an intense schedule incorporating different technique classes with conditioning, interesting repertoire, and performance preparation. Trainees will work under our highly regarded faculty including Sona Kharatian, Alvaro Palau, and Kevin Malone, receiving detailed coaching and personal feedback.

Performance Opportunities
Trainees will gain real-world stage experience through performances, including:
Featured roles in Dance Loft on 14 school and seasonal productions
Potential participation in touring or special small group choreography projects
Matinee performances of Moveius Contemporary Ballet repertory for partner public schools at DL14 theater
Understudying/Corps work in Moveius Contemporary Ballet productions
Tuition & Financial Aid
The Trainee Program has a robust 17.5 hour schedule, not including Moveius Company class. The annual tuition is $10,080.00. As this is the inaugural year of the program, we ask a deposit of 20% be used to secure your spot. The deposit will be taken out of the cost for whichever payment plan you choose, whether that be Annual payment, 3 Session payment, or Monthly payment.
