A sweet and supportive introduction to ballet for your little one - taught through music, movement, and playful props. This 45-minute class invites children to explore rhythm, balance, and creativity with the comfort and guidance of a parent or caregiver. Perfect for bonding, building early motor skills, and nurturing a love of dance from the very beginning.
Offerings
Spring Session Saturday, 10:00-10:45 am with Catherine This class starts April 18th.
Tuition:
ENROLL for 8 weeks @ $160 beginning Saturday, April 18th.
Dress Code:
Girls: pink or purple leotard (skirts okay), pink or flesh tone tights or ankle socks, canvas or leather ballet shoes, hair pulled back out of face
Boys: fitted black leggings or shorts (skirts okay), solid colored t-shirt, canvas or leather ballet shoes, hair pulled back out of face
*If student is uncomfortable they are welcome to wear comfortable clothing as long as it is flexible, breathable, and not baggy.

Our Pre-Ballet class introduces our youngest dancers (ages 4–6) to ballet in a fun and positive environment that allows students to learn dance skills and activate their creativity. Students learn basic ballet steps and work toward developing coordination and rhythm. This class prioritizes fostering a love for dance and emphasizes self-expression and imagination.

Spring Session Saturday, 11:00-11:45 am with Ms. Catherine. This class begins May 2nd.

Our bilingual creative movement class introduces students to dance education, technique, and foundations that help fine-tune motor skills and improve both cognitive ability and confidence in both English and Spanish.

Get to know your instructors!
Sarah Mcdonald
Sarah Macdonald joined Moveius Contemporary Ballet in 2022. She comes to D.C from Portland, Oregon, where she trained at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre. She continued her dance training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Ballet Austin and went on to dance with Ballet Theatre of Maryland from 2013-2020.
Catherine Casey
Catherine Casey, from Hockessin, DE, received her training from the Wilmington Ballet Academy of the Dance. She then joined Texas Ballet Theatre's Studio Training Company, where she performed in Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker, George Balachine’s Serenade, and Ben Stevenson's Alice in Wonderland. She performed in Ballet de Barcelona’s El Trencanous and excerpts of Giselle choreographed by Leandro Perez Sanabria. This is her first season with MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet.
Dress Code
We encourage creativity in all of our students! We have a suggested dress code for students, but understand that at a young age, dance attire can feel constricting. Please view the classes above for the suggested dress code for each level.
