Celebrate Valentine’s weekend with Love Language—a heartfelt evening of dance curated by acclaimed choreographer and Moveius Associate Director Alvaro Palau. Love Language is an immersive ballet where movement becomes a medium for connection, romance, and creative discovery. Set during a fictional audition, audiences journey with the dancers through multiple spaces at Dance Loft on 14 as love blooms on and off the stage.

Compañía Medusa returns to their first home, Washington, DC, with the world premiere of Casita—a reimagined, evening-length version of the work that launched the company in 2016. Casita explores themes of family, love, community, and chosen connection through an intergenerational lens, tracing the bonds we build—through blood, water, memory, and movement.

Dance loft presents! Brandon Marcelas
Brandon Marcelas Dozier brings his deep knowledge of hip-hop and urban street styles to this high energy show. Show will feature some of DC’s top urban dancers, and uptempo music that will make you want to get out of your chair and join the movement.
DANCE LOFT PRESENTS! Gabriel Mata
Artist-in-residence Gabriel Mata joins local choreographers and artists in Primer Impacto (working title), a program of contemporary dance works that captures the intensity of first encounters and lasting impressions. Each piece embodies the spark of creativity—the initial strike of movement, story, and collaboration—that resonates beyond the stage.

More than just a performance, A Nutcracker Dream is a joyful celebration of neighborhood spirit and shared seasonal magic—right in the heart of Northwest D.C.
Guiding Light: Celebrating 10 years
Moveius Ballet opens its 10th Anniversary Season with Guiding Light—a powerful reflection on a decade of bold vision, boundary-pushing choreography, and community-rooted innovation. Curated by founder Diana Movius, this program features new works and dynamic revivals by Tamas Krizsa, Alvaro Palau, Raquel Klein, and Movius herself, showcasing the company’s evolution as both a creative force and a platform for emerging ballet voices. More than a retrospective, Guiding Light honors the role of Moveius as a catalyst for new work, local partnerships, and fresh perspectives in contemporary ballet.
